Decoding Intuition: Listening to the Whisper

Image
Each week, after recording my podcast for the week, I'm diving deeper with a follow-up blog post!  Spotify Amazon Music iTunes iHeart Radio   I'm currently doing a series called  Your Inner North Star . Today, we're going to talk about  Decoding Intuition,  the second  episode in the series.  I don't know about you, but if you have intuition, it is truly a whisper. It's like so many times we just ignore it, and then whenever it's screaming at us, we might listen. Intuition is a really funny thing. After I had attempted to take my own life, I spent a good year and a half just really not in a good place. And I didn't hear any whispers; I didn't hear anything because I was just so depressed and just really in dark, dark places. And that's where I lived mentally. So, I moved from Georgia back to Texas and got my own apartment. I would be there, you know, by myself, and I just knew that I needed to heal and knew that I needed to work through my divo...

Your Inner North Star: A Journey of Trust Series

I'm so grateful to have you here, and I'm honored that you have taken the time to read this. Whoever might be reading this, I'm so glad that you found me. This is a series on Trust. You can also check out the Podcast on  Spotify  or  iTunes . I think that we start out life needing other people to tell us what to do. You might have grown up praying to God and asking for his guidance on what to do and praying with other people and getting on a prayer list or prayer chains and asking teachers and counselors, and therapists what to do. You go to elders, leaders, counselors, pastors, and everybody outside yourself. And we lose sight of or maybe never even know that we have this amazing inner North Star, this fantas...

I'm sure the name was very intriguing. I thought of it a long time ago, but at that time I was really screwed up in my mind and was dealing with mental health issues and wasn't about to try to help somebody else. So this year I thought of it again. I had attempted to take my own life in January of 2013. I have spent the last almost 12 years really healing and working on myself and growing and basically learning how to save my own life every single day. I have always struggled with suicidal thoughts, had suicidal ideation before I even knew or understood what suicide meant. I was a very young girl. Over time, I realized through a series of events that I was suicidal and what that meant. My mom took me to counseling, just a bunch of other things that I'll dive into as we get going. I want to tell you that there ...
